An small existing roof well dictated the area allowed for the HVAC system. An aging inefficient dual duct system and a new tenant meant the property manager needed to bring the system back up to par.
The “team” consisted of Alliance Air Products as manufacturer; a detail oriented specifying engineer and a comprehensive experienced contractor. Alliance Air Products constructed a custom “set” of units. One part consisted of a custom 140-ton Dx condensing unit and boiler plant. The other, a matching customer air handler.
The project was located in an area known for its high outdoor ambient temps. The property is used for public venues in peak summer conditions. Space only allowed for a rooftop unit. The load range could be very wide, so unloading was important.
Alliance Air Products constructed a rooftop unit utilizing an evap-condenser. Four separate Dx circuits were used to provide good low load system control.
